Record Store Day Movie Marathon

On Saturday 21st I am going to have myself a Record Store Day Movie Marathon. Primarily because I can’t afford to buy any new records at the moment and secondarily because it has been a while since I have watched the films that are to be listed below. The movies are about music/popular culture, involve bands both real and fictional, other solo music makers, radio stations, the playing of vinyl records and fans of all sorts of music of course. Here is a list of the films that I will have to choose from to watch. Click the links to IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) Page for the film listed.

Spirit of 76

Dazed and Confused

Almost Famous

Nick and Noras’s Infinite Playlist

Empire Records

The Commitments

24 Hour Party People

High Fidelity

American Graffiti

Mr Hollands Opus

The Boat That Rocked/Pirate Radio

That Thing You Do

August Rush

This Is Spinal Tap

Pump Up The Volume

Foo Fighters: Back and Forth

Ben Harper: Pleasure and Pain

U2: Rattle and Hum

Meeting People Is Easy – A film about Radiohead

Detroit Rock City

School Of Rock

The Thing Called Love

Walk The Line

If like me, you can’t afford to buy new records or CD’s and have these movies yourself on DVD, why not watch one or two of them and join in the celebrations of Record Store Day in your own little way at home.
